Ice Break Up

This morning the lake was ice covered with a layer of fog floating around.... beautiful!   By late afternoon, the temps were in the high 70's, the wind was whipping and voila! ~ open water!  Glorious!
It's the earliest ice break up I can remember since moving here in 1970.  What was your day like?

I am just amazed by our lack of winter this year...we were in the 70's this weekend and it was awesome.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. To answer your question about Lily and the rain, I try to find clothes that are made of sheer fabrics so they dry quickly. If I'm home, I put a plastic bag over her before it rains. I never pay more than a couple of bucks for her clothes so after they get too weathered and faded, I discard them.

It was in the mid 80s yesterday here near Nashville, but this afternoon it rained so it cooled down. To answer your question, yes I saw the movie Hugo and liked it a lot. Even though it was like a fantasy I could recognized the Gare du Nord in Paris from where I used to commute daily when my parents had a house in the Paris suburbs. Your lake is lovely.
