After two days of rain and mild weather our beautiful snow is mostly gone. Just look at the ice on the lake!!! The sun came up bright today, this first day of 2011. The temperatures are dropping. The wind is whipping the flag! With any luck at all I'll be on my ice skates tomorrow. Happy New Year to you all!

I love to ice skate although I haven't skated since I broke my foot last year as it's still a little swollen and sore.
I read through your posts and I have to tell you thta your fireplace is one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen! Your chicken pot pie looked so good, too.
To Pat from Pat....Hopefully your foot will allow you to skate soon.... maybe next season? I know there are rinks, both indoor and outdoor, but nothing beats taking off across the frozen lake on skates.
