A Crisp Sunny Mother's Day

Talked on the phone with my kids who are far, far away.... will see them soon along with that darling new granddaughter. In the meantime, the cherry blossoms are beginning to pop. I will get some pictures posted soon. Spent a little art time this afternoon making these collages. Hope all mothers had a peaceful, happy day today.

May Day & Plane Tickets

It was a glorious first day of May here today with only a light jacket needed! Sunny, crisp and beautiful. Remember the custom of leaving a May basket of flowers on a neighbors' doorknob anonymously? When my dogs barked this afternoon, I went to investigate and there was this lovely basket of pansies and a note "Happy May Day!" Thank you, Mary Ann, my mystery friend.

On another happy note, I purchased airline tickets (yes, reasonably priced - surprise!) to go visit my wee newborn granddaughter soon!

Chihuly Glass Installation

Must share a few photos of the awe-some installation
I visited a week ago at the Desert Botanical Gardens
in Phoenix. Dale Chihuly's glass creations are amazing
in an already beautiful setting. This exhibit remains
through May... if you get a chance to see it, do so.

Sweaters for Teddy Bears

Walked into the knit shop in Scottsdale for a crochet hook
and walked out with this darling book full of patterns
""Knits for Children and Their Teddies."" I am not an
expert knitter and welcome any hints and stories of
success.

Nursery Curtains

While I am thinking about family tonight, here are
a couple of photos of the curtains I made for baby's
nursery. I used a vintage bunny rabbit fabric
reminiscent of Beatrix Potter~adorable. Ruffles at
top and bottom are a soft mint dot on mauve/taupe
by Ava Rose. Curtains are lined with cotton canvas.

Family Photos

It is so rare that my immediate family assembles for a photo! Here
we all are on April 5th, Prescott, AZ. The occasion was the baby shower for
my daughter-in-law, Karlyn. Baby girl is due the end of April/first of May.
From right to left are my daughter Wendy, Karlyn, dad-to-be son Brian,
grandma-to-be ~ that's me!, and step-grandpa-to-be, Richard.
